Although the cocoa bean grows well in warm countries, a warm environment for processed chocolate is not the way to store chocolate. The other extreme (cold) is also not suitable for chocolate. You might say that chocolate is quite finicky.
What temperature?
Chocolate is best stored at a temperature of between 15 and 20 degrees and in the dark, because sunlight causes temperature fluctuations that can make the chocolate less tasty. So make sure you have a perfectly dry, dark place between 15 and 20 degrees. We therefore do not recommend keeping chocolate in the refrigerator!
Why does the chocolate turn into an unappetizing looking piece of white chocolate?
The reason why your chocolate turns white can have three causes. At hot, at cold or at damp. Therefore, always try to store chocolate correctly so that you can enjoy your chocolate for a very long time.
How long can I keep my chocolate?
–Dark chocolate: 1.5 years to 2 years
–Milk chocolate: 1 year
–White chocolate: 3 months
Can I also simply store boxes of chocolate in the chocolate climate cabinet?
Yes you certainly can. This allows you to enjoy your chocolates/pralines for a long time to the fullest.
And what about cakes or pastries?
You can also store that in the chocolate climate cabinet! And because there is no raised edge at the front, you can also easily slide the pastry (or boxes) in without having to move the tray forward.
