Why a herbs climate cabinet

Herbs and spices should be stored in a cool, dry and dark place. Heat, light and moisture can lead to a reduction in the quality of the herbs or spices, moisture can also cause lumps and mold to form. Heat and light are bad for the quality, as a result the herbs or spices dry out and the herbs or spices lose their smell, color and taste.

If you keep in mind the following points, your herbs and spices will retain their color, smell and taste.

Light:
Due to light and UV rays, the quality of your herbs deteriorates rapidly. If you want to store your herbs , this is best done in a dark room.

Temperature:
The quality of herbs stays the best with a constant temperature (between 12 – 18° C). It is therefore wise to prevent herbs from being in the vicinity of heat sources, for example, sunlight, heaters or kitchen supplies.

Moisture:
Herbs has a longer shelf life because it is a dry product. However absorbing moisture from the air is not preferable. It is therefore advisable to use the tea cabinet.
