Although the cocoa bean grows well in warm countries, a heat environment for processed chocolate is not the way to store chocolate. The other extreme (cold) is also nothing for chocolate. You could say, chocolate is kind of picky.
What temperature?
Chocolate is best stored at a temperature between 15 and 20 degrees and in the dark, because sunlight causes a fluctuation in temperature, which can make the chocolate less tasty. So make sure you have a perfectly dry, dark place between 15 and 20 degrees. So we do not advice to store your chocolate in a refrigerator!
Why the chocolate turns into an unappetizing looking piece of white chocolate?
The reason that your chocolate turns white can be due to three causes. Too hot, too cold or too humid.
How long can I store my chocolate?
-Dark chocolate: 1.5 years to 2 years
-Milk chocolate: 1 year
-Chocolates: 3 months
